After his defeat at the hands of Sonic during the Little Planet saga, Metal Sonic sought to increase his power by copying data from Sonic, his friends, and Chaos through Froggy and Chocola. With his newfound abilities, he turned against Eggman in his own crazed plot to rule the world. He is extremely powerful, capable of adding to his body and becoming a metallic monstrosity, or siphoning power from the Master Emerald to achieve his own super transformation. Having successfully copied all this data, he picked up a few new tricks with Extreme Gear as he launches into yet another attempt to surpass and vanquish his archnemesis on the track.
